A friend of mine came to me last week and asked me to help
her remove the flashing message icon (small envelope) on her Nokia E72.
I asked
her why a small thing like that would bother her? But it also flashes some
light around the big navigation button and that bothered her at night.
This message icon (small envelope) flashes on your phone
home screen for one reason;
Because you SIM card messages are full.
You phone is
cable of storing messages on the SIM card and also on its memory (SD card or
the in-built memory).
Usually only 15 messages (maximum) can be stored on the SIM
card, and when these messages fill up, that message icon will start flashing on
you home screen.
Solution:
1.
Copy your SIM card messages to the memory card
or the phone’s in-built memory.
Menu >> Messaging
>> Options >> SIM messages >> Options >> Mark/Unmark
>> Mark – select all the messages you wish to move.
Options >> Copy >>
copy to Inbox (or any other folder that resides on your phone memory).
2.
Delete your SIM card messages.
Menu >> Messaging
>> Options >> SIM messages >> Options >> Mark/Unmark
>> Mark all
Options >> Delete
– and delete them from you SIM card.
This should take care of the flashing message icon.
Have fun :-)
