QoS Parameters to consider when setting the SLAs for VOIP Networks
Am currently working on a draft SLA (Service Level Agreement) with a VOIP carrier, here is a useful link i came across to guide me in setting the maximum allowed values, for both the transmission links and the end to end voice calls. Things to consider are:
Latency: Delay for packet delivery
Jitter: Variations in delay of packet delivery
Packet loss: Too much traffic in the network causes the network to drop packets
Burstiness of Loss and Jitter: Loss and Discards (due to jitter) tend to occur in bursts
